Spinach Squares
My mom used to make these when I was little, and even though they had spinach in them, I loved them! Now that I'm older and I do like spinach, they taste even better!!
Spinach Squares
Ingredients
1 cup flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 cup milk
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup butter, (1 stick), melted
1 pk frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 lb sharp cheddar cheese, grated ( 2 8 oz blocks)
Directions
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 13 x 9" pan.
2. In a large bowl, combine flour, salt and baking powder.
3. Add milk, eggs, and butter to the flour mixture.
4. Add spinach, onion and cheese and stir.
5. Pour the mixture into the pan and bake for 30-40 minutes, until the edges are slightly brown.
Cut into squares. Serve warm or cool! ( Can be put into the freezer.)
